📄 Privacy Policy for Thirsty Pets: Drink Water Reminder

Thirsty Pets: Drink Water Reminder ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and disclose information when you use our mobile application.

1. Information We Collect

A. Health Data (Health Connect)

Thirsty Pets integrates with Google Health Connect to sync your hydration data with other health platforms like Google Fit.

•

Data Collected: We write hydration records (volume and time) to Health Connect.

•

User Control: You must explicitly grant permission within the app to use this feature. You can revoke this access at any time via your device settings.

•

Use of Data: We do not sell or share your health data with third-party advertisers. It is used solely to provide you with a unified health ecosystem experience.

B. Social & Squad Data (Firebase)

To enable real-time leaderboards and "Squad" features, we use Google Firebase.

•

Display Name: If you choose to set a display name, it will be visible to your squad members.

•

Authentication: We use Firebase Anonymous Auth to create a unique profile for you without requiring an email or password.

•

Leaderboard Progress: Your daily water intake percentage, pet level, and streak are synced to Cloud Firestore so they can be displayed on your squad's leaderboard.

C. Technical & Usage Data

•

Firebase Analytics: We collect non-identifiable usage statistics (e.g., which features are used most) to help us improve the app.

•

Local Storage: Your individual drink logs are stored locally on your device using an encrypted Room Database and SharedPreferences.

2. Third-Party Services & Libraries

We use the following third-party libraries and services, which may collect data in accordance with their own privacy policies:

•

Google AdMob: Used for displaying advertisements. AdMob may collect and use data (such as your device's advertising ID) to show personalized ads.

•

Google Play Services: Required for core app functionality and security.

•

Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM): Used to send you "Nudges" and hydration reminders.

•

Konfetti & YCharts: Purely visual libraries used for animations and statistics; they do not collect personal data.

3. Data Retention & Deletion

We retain user data for as long as necessary to provide the features of Thirsty Pets: Drink Water Reminder.

Local Data: Your drink logs and other app data stored locally on your device remain on your device until you delete the data, clear the app's storage, or uninstall the app.

Health Connect Data: When you grant permission, we write hydration records to Health Connect. We do not retain a separate copy of these Health Connect records on our servers. You can manage or delete Health Connect data through your device's Health Connect settings.

Squad and Leaderboard Data: When you join a Squad, your display name and hydration-related progress, including your water intake, streak, pet level, and other leaderboard information, may be stored in Firebase Cloud Firestore so that your progress can be displayed to other members of your Squad.

When you leave a Squad, your squadId is removed from your user profile and your unique user ID is removed from that Squad's member list. As a result, you are immediately removed from that Squad's leaderboard and your leaderboard information is no longer displayed to members of that Squad.

Leaving a Squad does not delete your personal hydration history, achievements, pets, XP, display name, weight, goals, or other information stored in your user profile. This information is retained so that you can continue using the app and join or create another Squad.

Firebase Anonymous Account: Your Firebase Anonymous Authentication account remains associated with your user profile while it is required to provide the app's features. The account and associated profile data are not automatically deleted when you leave a Squad.

Squad Data: A Squad's Firestore document may remain in our database after all members have left. An empty Squad is not automatically deleted. If the Squad owner explicitly deletes the Squad, the Squad data is deleted and the squadId association is cleared for the remaining members.

Analytics Data: Firebase Analytics data may be retained according to Google's applicable data-retention settings and policies.

Advertising Data: If advertising is enabled, Google AdMob may process advertising-related information according to Google's applicable policies and retention practices.

We do not retain data indefinitely for purposes unrelated to providing the app's features. Data is retained only for as long as it is necessary for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy or as required by applicable law.4. Advertising (AdMob)

While ads are currently an optional feature, when enabled, Google AdMob may collect data for the purpose of serving targeted advertisements. You can manage your ad preferences via your Google Account or device-level "Opt out of Interest-Based Ads" settings.

5. Contact Us
